Quick-reference guide for configuring manual and automated promos
Promotion Tags
Purpose: Label manual promo funding so you can track/report on it.
When Tags Appear:
Program Console ▶ Cards ▶ Fund Promotion
Virtual Terminal ▶ Fund Promotion
Automated Promotions
To Create a Promotion Tag:
In Ackroo Anywhere, go to Settings ▶ Loyalty ▶ Promotion Tags.
Click Add Tag.
Enter a Tag Name (e.g. “Birthday Promo,” “eGift Purchase Promo”).
Select the Location(s)/Department(s) where this tag applies (Ctrl-click to multi-select).
Click OK.
Now, whenever you fund a promotion at those locations, this tag will be available in the dropdown.
Automated Promotions
Purpose: Automatically load preset promo dollars onto a customer’s card when defined triggers occur.
Requires: Program-level admin access. Some triggers (e.g. POS registration, automotive purchase) require systems integration.
Common Triggers:
POS Registration (VT or integrated POS)
Mobile App Registration
Online Cardholder Registration
Birthday (must be on file)
eGift Purchase / Reload / Recipient
Anniversary
Automotive Purchase (via DMS integration)
To Configure an Automated Promotion:
Go to Settings ▶ Loyalty ▶ Automated Promotions.
Click Add Campaign.
Fill in:
Name & Description
Promotion Tag (from your tags)
Event (trigger)
Apply Promotion From (triggering location)
Promo Amount ($)
Start & End Dates
Activation (Immediate or Scheduled)
Expiration (auto-expire unspent funds)
Send Email? (Yes/No)
Mandrill Template Slug (for custom email; Ackroo Support)
Require Registration to Redeem?
Click OK to activate immediately.
To Manage an Automated Promotion:
Edit: Action ▶ Edit
Suspend/Resume: Action ▶ Suspend or Resume
