We understand how counterintuitive this can feel, especially if English is your second language or you identify as part of a visible minority group. We shared this concern too, which is why we conducted early research to examine the impact of this type of assessment.

Our studies showed that including sections like the video response actually helped reduce demographic differences in performance. This supports our commitment to designing assessments that are impartial, and reflective of individual strengths.
