The Title Management function allows you to manage a vehicle’s title status. A matched title refers to a title that is in the auction’s possession and that has a matching vehicle on the auction lot. The following steps guide you through the process of successfully working a matched title:
1. Go to AMP at https://www.adesaamp.com.
If you have the proper permissions, you see a Welcome! page (see Figure 1). You’re not asked for a password or username.
If you don’t have permission for web-shared services and web applications, you’ll see an error message.
2. From the menu, choose Titles --> Title Management (see Figure 2).
Warning: If you don’t see Title Management in the menu that appears, it means that you don’t have permission for the work and/or title management functions. You need to have title management override to change a title’s status. Otherwise, you’ll only be able to view the title. Prior to managing titles, you can verify permissions via the AMS Security Report in AMS Reports.
3. In the Title Management window, click on the Matched Titles tab (see Figure 3).
An unmatched title is a title that the auction possesses, but the vehicle is not on the lot. For details on viewing titles without vehicles, refer to the “Manage an Unmatched Title” process in the Help Center.
Vehicles on the auction lot that the auction does not have a title for appear in the Vehicles Without Titles list. For details on vehicles without titles, refer to the “Manage Vehicles Without Titles Report” process in the Help Center.
A list of vehicles with matching VINs appears (see Figure 4).
4. If it isn’t already selected, click on the All tab to view all vehicles with an unmatched title (see Figure 5).
Tip: You can search for a specific vehicle by either scanning its title tag or entering the last six digits of the VIN in the VIN Search box (see Figure 6). You can customize the column display so that you see only the information you’re interested in. To do so, select the check boxes for the information you want to view.
5. Click on the Work button for the vehicle whose title you want to manage (see Figure 7).
The Work Title window displays information about the seller, buyer, and title (see Figure 8). If the auction has power of attorney, the POA check box will automatically be checked.
6. Verify the title information and enter any comments, if needed.
Tip: You can click on the Mailing or Street address buttons to toggle between the buyer or seller’s mailing and street addresses. You can display or hide dealer license numbers by clicking on Show or Hide seller’s licenses (see Figure 9).
If you have title management override, you can update the title information, if needed. Otherwise, you can only view the information.
7. After you ensure the title information is accurate, click on the Transferred button to change the title status to transferred or the Problem button if you notice a problem with the title (see Figure 10).
Note: You will only be able to change the Title Status if you have title management override.
8. Click on Save and Print (see Figure 11).
Alternatively, you can click on Save or Save and Release to release the title to the buyer or seller.
9. To print a receipt or a title tag, click on the Print Title Tag button, as shown in Figure 12.
You can print a replacement or duplicate title tag or a customer receipt to document that the auction has the title in its possession.
10. To work the title for another vehicle, click on the Back button to return to the list of vehicles and then click on the Work button to work the next car.
Remember: If you encounter an error, always report it. Reporting the error helps log and identify problems.
