This process guides you through how to remove inoperable units from auction property. During the check-in process, GPS beacons are associated with all vehicles (including inoperable units). After determining that the vehicle will remain inoperable, the vehicle should be moved to the final sale location and the Beacon removed. This lets us register the location within the system and ensures that we don't lose the Beacon when the vehicle leaves the lot later.

Removing the Beacon

Use this process if the vehicle is inoperable and no work is being performed. The vehicle should already be moved to the final location for sale.

  1. Locate the vehicle.

  2. Remove the Beacon.

  3. Disassociate the Beacon from the vehicle.
    For details, see here.
Note: This doesn't check the vehicle out of the lot inventory.

  4. Return the Beacon to the inventory storage.

Checking Out

Use this process when the vehicle is being checked out at the Gate. The Beacon should already have been removed using the steps above.

  1. Locate the vehicle.

  2. Scans the vehicle

  3. Verify the vehicle doesn't have a Beacon.
Note: A Beacon ID is currently required.

  4. Acknowledge the vehicle doesn't have a Beacon.
