If your instant DAS comes up non-negative, contact KINNECT on 1300 546 632 immediately to allow us to decide whether to send the sample to the LAB for GCMS confirmation testing.

Some companies provide preapproval for GCMS which can be found on the Carelever file.

You will be reminded of this with a pop-up message once "Non-Negative" has been selected within the Carelever Form (as per below)

Ensure you package the sample and refrigerate for up to 24 hours as if you are going to send it to the pathology laboratory for GCMS.

You must wait for KINNECT results to give confirmation before sending. This process is in place as KINNECT is required to seek approval from some of our clients for any additional fees incurred for GCMS testing.

Once you have received approval to proceed with the GCMS testing, you will then generate the Chain of Custody Form and complete the steps as indicated, ensuring all components of the Drug and Alcohol Screen form have been filled:

The generated Chain of Custody Form will be prepopulated with the worker's details and the Drug and Alcohol Screen results as entered in the Carelever form. The Chain of Custody Form will need to be packaged with the urine sample and sent to the pathology along with the sample for GCMS testing. The applicant will not need to provide another urine sample or attend the pathology clinic directly.

Once the results are received, these are to be sent through to KINNECT, and we will ensure that the Purchase Order reflects any additional fees associated with the confirmatory testing.
