Compare at Price Not Reflecting for Checkout Upsells ( Shopify Plus)

This article outlines the troubleshooting steps to follow when compare-at prices are not displaying correctly for checkout upsells.

Updated today

If product discounts aren’t appearing at checkout even though checkout upsells are published, this may be related to how compare-at prices display in Shopify for EEA (European Economic Area) stores.

Why This Happens

Shopify automatically uses the compare-at price feature to meet the European Price Indication Directive (PID). When enabled, Shopify shows the lowest price in the past 30 days instead of an active discount. You can read Shopify's documentation for more details.

How to Fix

If your primary market is in the EEA:

  1. Go to Products in your Shopify admin.

  2. Open the product.

  3. Under Pricing, set the Compare-at price to the lowest price in the last 30 days or more.

  4. Set the Price to your new sale price.

  5. Click Save.

Note: The Compare-at price must be higher than the Price to display a discount.

If your store’s primary market isn’t in the EEA:

  1. Go to Settings > Markets in Shopify.

  2. Click Preferences.

  3. Deselect Hide compare-at prices for EEA customers.

  4. Click Save.

If the issue continues after adjusting these settings, clear your browser cache and test again. If it persists, contact Aftersell Support for further assistance.
