Widget Not Displaying on the Thank You Page

This article covers common reasons why a widget may not appear on the TYP and provides troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

Here are some possible reasons why the widgets may not display:

Display Sequence for Post-Purchase Upsells

Understanding the upsell display flow can help identify where issues might occur. The sequence follows this order:

  1. Customer completes their checkout

  2. 1-Click Upsell Offers are presented (if eligible)

  3. Customer proceeds to the Thank You Page where additional upsells and widgets may display


Funnel Priority

Another funnel might be displaying instead of the one you're trying to test, due to having a higher priority.

  1. You can view the priority of your funnel on the left side of the funnel table.

  2. To adjust the priority levels, use the button located at the top right of the funnel table.

The priority level of a funnel determines the order in which the funnel's triggers are evaluated. The funnel with priority level 1 will be checked first, followed by the funnel with priority level 2, and so on.


Funnel Triggers

The order you're placing may not be meeting the trigger requirements you've set for the funnel. We recommend reviewing your triggers to ensure they are set correctly. Here’s a video demonstration:


Product Availability

The product you're trying to upsell may not be available for purchase. For post-purchase upsell offers to display correctly, specific product conditions must be met:

  1. Ensure the product is included in the "Online Store" sales channel and set to "Active" status.

  2. Verify that the product is in stock and has available inventory - out-of-stock items will not be shown to customers.

  3. Check that the product variants you want to offer are properly configured.


Re-Select Upsell Products

Occasionally, Aftersell may lose connection to a product if significant changes are made in Shopify, such as a handle change or the removal of variants.

To restore this connection, simply reselect the product. This will prompt Aftersell to update with the new product information, ensuring it displays correctly on your live store.


Thank You Page Extensibility

If you've upgraded to Shopify's Thank You Page extensibility, you might be trying to use the Scripts version of the widgets. Please note that Scripts widgets only work with the Legacy version of the Thank You Page, while Extensions widgets are compatible with stores that have upgraded to the Thank You Page extensibility. Note that 1-click upsell offers are automatically integrated into this flow and do not need to be manually added to the Thank You Page.

Once you've designed your widgets in Aftersell, you'll need to add them in your Shopify editor in 2 places:

  1. Thank you page

  2. Order status page

Simply click the button to open the Shopify editor:
