Service Connections and Permissions for the AI Test Case Generator for Azure
Updated over a week ago

If you have already installed and subscribed to AI Test Case Generator in Azure DevOps, the service connection will be automatically created. However, the 'Administrator’ of the existing connection should share the service connection for the new projects.

The user must have the appropriate access permissions to perform the operation.

Share Service Connection

1. In your project, navigate to ‘Board’ then click ‘Work items’ or 'Boards’ and select user story.

2. If the service connection has not been shared within the project, when the 'Administrator' of the existing service connection clicks the 'Generate Test Cases' button, a dialog box will be displayed to select the connection.

3. Select ‘AI Test Case Generator’ and click the ’OK’ button. A confirmation message will be displayed if the service connection is successfully shared.

4. Once the service connection is successfully shared, the test cases will be automatically generated. A confirmation message will be displayed if the service connection is successfully shared.

5. Once the ‘Administrator’ of the existing connection successfully shared the connection, 'Project Administrators and ‘Contributors’ can smoothly generate test cases.

The ‘Administrator’ of the existing service connection can also share the service connection when performing Bulk Operations.

1. In your project, navigate to ‘Board’ then click ‘Queries’.

2. Click ‘New query’, then 'Run query’

3. Navigate to 'Results’ and select the user stories, then 'right click’.

4. Select ‘Generate Test Cases’.

5. Click ‘Fix’ button.

6. Select ‘AI Test Case Generator’ and click ‘OK’ button.

7. Click ‘Start’ and wait until the processing is completed.

8. All the user stories processed in Bulk Operations should have generated test cases.

Users without 'Administrator’ permission to the existing service connection are not allowed to share the connection to the new projects.

1. Access the user story and click the 'Generate Test Cases' button.

2. Select the 'AI Test Case Generator' and click 'OK' button.

3. An error message will be displayed to inform the user that the 'Administrator' of the service connections is required to perform the operation.
