Access permissions are crucial for smooth utilization of the AI Test Case Generator. Ensuring users have the right permissions is essential for effective utilization of this tool within Azure DevOps.

Availability of Settings and Test Case Generator for users with Basic + Test Plan access

Users with Basic + Test Plan access levels can access the ‘AI Test Case Generator Project Settings’ and generate test cases, provided that their project permissions are set to ‘Project Administrator’ or ‘Contributor’.

1. Navigate to the 'Organization settings' located at the bottom of the organization and select 'Users’ to verify the users access level.

2. Navigate to your project, click on ‘Project Settings’ located at the bottom of the sidebar. Then, select 'Permissions’.

3. Select the ‘Project Administrators’ Group.

4. Click the 'Members’ menu. In this page, the ‘Global Administrator’ can add or remove ‘Project Administrators

5. As a 'Project Administrator’, navigate to the user story and check the ‘AI Test Case Generator’ section. The ‘Generate Test Cases’ button is accessible and available.

6. Click ‘Generate Test Cases’ button to create the test cases.

A confirmation message should be displayed, indicating that the test cases have been successfully generated.

Users with Basic + Test Plan access level and ‘Project Administrator’ permission can also generate test cases by Bulk.

'Project Administrators' can also add members to the 'Contributor' group, allowing them access to the AI Test Case Generator.

1. Access your project and click on the 'Project settings' located at the bottom of the sidebar. Then, select Permissions.

2. Select the ‘Contributors’ Group.

3. Project Administrator can add members to the ‘Contributor’ group.

4. As a 'Contributor’ of the project, navigate to the user story and check the ‘AI Test Case Generator’ section. The ‘Generate Test Cases’ button is accessible and available.

5. Click ‘Generate Test Cases’ button.

A confirmation message should be displayed, indicating that the test cases have been successfully generated.

Users with Basic + Test Plan access level and ‘Contributor’ permission can also generate test cases by Bulk.

Non-availability of Settings and Test Case Generator for users with Basic and Stakeholder access level.

Basic access level

1. Navigate to the 'Organization settings' and select 'Users’ to check the users access level.

2. As a user with Basic access level, navigate to the project and access the user story. Then, check the ‘AI Test Case Generator’ section. The ‘Settings’ and ‘Generate Test Cases’ button are not visible.

3. For Bulk Operations, a panel will appear, notifying the user that they do not have the necessary license or permission to generate test cases.

Stakeholder access level
