Do you take an into to a large VC from a seed fund if seed fund didn’t invest yet?

Typically, it's ok if a later stage investor intro's you to an earlier stage investor (e.g. A VC intro's you to an Angel), but we don't advise the intro the other way if you are seeking investments from earlier stage investors.

The issue is this: if a VC gets connected to you from a seed fund they will wonder if the seed fund invested in you. If the seed fund did not -- and you are open to seed investing -- it will raise a question mark in the VC's eyes as to why the seed fund isn't investing. It's better to just independently reach out to the VC.

If you are not open to investments from seed stage funds  and only focusing later stage raises, then this intro is more acceptable and fine to do.
