Device card attributes
When you add a NEW device, the fields and attributes are the default as per below.
But you can add additional fields see below, and these can be defined by 'Device category' for example see below 2 different device and categories.
Based on Device category you can show the correct attributes for the device for example a pump vs an extruder below.
NOTE: Device categories can be added from the device card directly in the Categories field and "Add new" or Settings> Devices> Categories here you can set the custom fields created to the devices, you can also define which fault types can be selected for a category.
Importing Devices
You can import device into Alldevice, there are 2 use cases for import and it is important they are understood and you use the correct method dependant on what you are trying to achieve.
Upload NEW devices - Here you should use the Import function, and only ONE time, if you see that some corrections are needed use point 2 below
Update EXISTING devices - Its important to export the data so the database IDs are included in the file to be updated, and on import the changes are reflected on the current devices.
To build an initial import file you can download a template from Alldevice directly, this can be found by selecting Devices at the top row, and on the very right there is Export and Import. For the uploading of NEW devices use the Import, clicking on import - select the file, or download the Import example file.
NOTE: Device tree should be manually setup before, as well as Manufactures and Categories should be setup in settings. You can correct these after, but its manual and saves time to set these up first.
