Task stages - show the status of tasks, and delays in completion reasons

Stages can be used to put a task into a stage such as waiting for parts or Management Sign-off, and a date when it should now be completed

There are a number of ways to use stages, but one common way is to set stages for delays, third party actions needed or any other reason a task might be legitimately delayed.

Another is for performers to complete the actions, but managers to check and signify on the completion of the tasks.

If for example we wanted to complete a maintenance task, but found a high value spare that we don't stock is needed. Rather than the task showing as overdue red, we can assign a stage and set a date when it should be completed for example.

To mark a stage select the task, and the from the task card select the stage

Adding a stage to the task means select the the task stage from the drop down selector, the list can be defined in Settings> Tasks> Task stages.
Set the deadline ie when do we expect to be able to repair, in this case a notification will be sent to the Performer(s) and I have added a comment so the reason details are clear

Now on the Task list the task is no longer red, but grey as its not reached the stage deadline, and I can also see the reason and deadline columns, so the red overdue tasks are ones you need to focus on.

If you can't see the columns for Stage you can customise what is seen in a view, this is personal to you and will be remembered,
Hover over a column tittle (any) and click the down arrow, click on columns and a list of all available columns will appear, which you can now choose what to show and not show. It can also be that filters will not appear if the column isn't displayed.

If the use case is management sign off, it would work similar to above, but you would need to change the rights of a performer so they cannot complete a tasks, but the signing off manager could. When the performer has completed the actions, they put the task into a stage like "Waiting Management Signoff" and then a manager can mark the task as completed.

If you do not see Stages in your account it may be disabled, an administrator can enable stages from Settings > Settings > Functionality and the Tasks section and enable
