We’ve answered some common questions so you don’t have to read the entire Privacy Policy.

Does my data get used to train AI models?

Only if you want it to! By default, none of your text, video, or audio data is used to train any AI models by Altis or any of our partners. In fact, our vendors for transcription and machine learning don’t even store any of data that we send them.

In order to improve Altis, we give you the option of giving feedback on any piece of AI output in the product. If a particular piece of content looks off (or great!) you can flag it and add a note – this will be used to update our models.

How do you handle PII?

When you upload data to Altis, you have the ability to redact Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from your conversations. When you choose to redact PII, the raw conversation is never stored, and there is no trace of the non-redacted file in our system. In addition, you can strip video data from conversations and insert pseudonyms to further protect the identity of your participants.

You can find a full list of all the data types that get redacted in our Data Compliance guidelines.

Is my data safe?

Yes! We use best-in-class security practices to make sure all data is protected, and we make sure our partners adhere to the highest security standards All your data is encrypted in transit and in storage.

Is Altis GDPR compliant?

Altis is designed to help you stay GDPR compliant. When you upload a conversation to Altis, you have the ability to link that data to a participant’s email address. So if someone reaches out to you (or us) about accessing or deleting their personal data, we’ll be able to handle it for you.
