Accounting Integrations and Default Mappings FAQ

What happens if Optional Categories (Accessorials, Fuel, Deductions, etc.) are not mapped in accounting integrations?

If Optional Categories are not mapped, these items will still be included in the integration, but they will be assigned to the default accounts in the third-party accounting system.

Which accounts do these items go to?

By default, fuel, tolls, and negative accessorials are assigned to expense accounts. However, there is an important exception—fuel and tolls will only be exported to the default accounts if the option to export them is enabled in the system settings.

What is the purpose of the 'Trips' mapping options in QuickBooks?

The 'Trips' mapping options in QuickBooks primarily apply to brokers. Specifically:

  • Carrier Pay is used for broker-related expenses.

  • Empty Mile, Loaded Mile, and Percentage are typically used for driver pay calculations.

For best practices, it is recommended to configure mappings according to your business needs to ensure accurate financial reporting in your accounting system.
