Alvys has teamed up with Highway to make carrier compliance and monitoring effortless. With this integration, you can instantly check a carrier’s Highway status right in Alvys, bring in new carriers from Highway automatically, and stay up to date with real-time carrier status changes.
Setting Up Highway
First, reach out to your Highway representative and request an Alvys integration key.
If you were using Highway with another TMS before, make sure to revoke that connection to prevent conflicts.
Once your Highway contact confirms the setup, all your previously onboarded carriers will be pushed into Alvys automatically.
On Alvys:
Go to Integrations > Carrier Compliance and select Highway.
Enter the API key provided by your Highway contact.
Choose which subsidiaries to apply the integration to.
Once the API key is validated, the integration will be active. If there is an issue, a banner will prompt you to check your credentials.
How It Works
Every five minutes, Alvys syncs with Highway to ensure your carrier data is always up to date. Any new carriers that have completed onboarding in Highway will automatically be created in Alvys, eliminating the need for manual entry. It’s strongly recommended not to add carriers directly in Alvys, as those carriers won’t be monitored by Highway.
Beyond onboarding, Alvys will also pull in any updates to existing carriers, such as changes to insurance, addresses, or compliance statuses. This means you’ll always have the latest, most accurate carrier data at your fingertips.
Carrier Status & Load Assignments
Each carrier in Highway is assigned a status, which is now reflected in Alvys:
Pass
Partial Pass
Incomplete
Fail
When assigning a carrier to a load, this external Highway status plays a key role. Carriers with a Pass or Partial Pass can be assigned as usual. However, if the carrier’s status is Incomplete or Fail, Alvys will block the assignment, unless you have "Override Carrier" permissions, in which case you can proceed at your discretion.
