Issue Overview
You may have noticed that after changing a driver's status from Company Driver to Owner Operator (or vice-versa), their previous loads still appear under the Company Driver tab instead of moving to the Owner Operator section in the Pay Drivers module.
Why Does This Happen?
When you assign a driver to a load, their current status at the time of assignment is what gets recorded. If a driver was a Company Driver when assigned to a load, that load will remain associated with the Company Driver section, even if their status is later updated to Owner Operator.
The system does not retroactively update past loads when a driver's status changes. Status changes only apply to future assignments.
How to Fix It
To move these loads under the correct tab, you need to reassign the driver so that the system updates their status on those loads. Here’s how:
Open the load in question.
Click Manage Assets.
Click Assign again to reapply the driver’s updated status.
Save the changes.
Once done, the load will now reflect the driver’s correct status and move to the Owner Operator tab.
What If the "Manage Assets" Button Is Missing?
If the Manage Assets button is missing, it is likely because a payment has already been processed for that load. In this case, you must:
Revert the existing pay stub associated with the load.
Follow the reassignment steps outlined above.
Reprocess the payment as needed.
Key Takeaways
The driver’s status at the time of load assignment remains unchanged unless manually updated.
Changing a driver’s status does not automatically update past loads.
To move past loads under the correct status, you must reassign the driver in the Manage Assets section.
If payments have already been processed, you must revert the pay stub before making changes.
