Run an execution on a Tecan Freedom EVO®

Use SynthaceHub to send the execution to Freedom EVOware®, then use Freedom EVOware® to instruct the device to run the execution.

Updated over a year ago

You can follow the written instructions below, or watch this video to view a visual demonstration:

1. Go to Executions, locate the execution, then click start.

null

The Run the task? dialog opens.

  1. Click YES, RUN THE TASK.

    null

    This triggers the following steps.

    1. SynthaceHub converts the execution into a script. The script contains the liquid handling instructions for the Tecan Freedom EVO®.

Tip: The execution might contain prompts, like the one that follows. If it does, SynthaceHub converts the execution into multiple scripts. Each script contains the liquid handling instructions from one prompt to the next. SynthaceHub also creates a main script that contains the other scripts as subroutines.

    2. After SynthaceHub converts the execution into a script, it moves the script to the Scripts folder in Freedom EVOware®.

    3. On the computer that is physically connected to the device, SynthaceHub creates the following folder. It contains some information about the execution.

      Local Disk (C:) > {your user name} > AppData > Local > Temp > Antha.Tecan-{your AnthaHub ID}

    4. SynthaceHub opens the script in Freedom EVOware®.

  2. If SynthaceHub converted the execution into multiple scripts, but you only want to run one, open the script that you want to run.

    1. In Freedom EVOware®, click Open.

      null

    2. Locate and select the script that SynthaceHub created.

      null

  3. Check that the deck layout and plates in Freedom EVOware® match the deck layout and plates in the script.

Warning: It is crucial that you double-check this. If the deck layout and plates in Freedom EVOware® do not match the deck layout and plates in the script, there may be crashes or run failures. If you use disposable tips, check that the tip boxes are in the right locations.

  4. Click Run.

    null

  5. In Runtime Controller, click Run.

    null
