To fully understand all that your DOE data are telling you it’s essential to build models. However this doesn’t mean that you can’t and shouldn’t do all the things you would normally do with any dataset. Number one on that list is to start by checking out the data visually. Generating plots showing distributions and pairwise relationships between factors and responses can get you started on what sorts of things to expect from model-building as well as highlighting potential problems.
