This guide is designed for in-venue hosts working with partner venues using the Anzir platform. It provides a step-by-step walkthrough to help you smoothly run your first MysteryAct (immersive role-playing game) session.
If you're a venue owner, feel free to share this page with your in-venue hosts for training and reference.
Step 1: Apply to Become a Venue GM
Before you can unlock or host any MysteryAct, you must first become a GM (Game Master) for a venue.
Only after joining a venue can you view, unlock, and run its scripts.
✅ Tip:
If you're already a GM for a venue, skip this step and start directly from Step 2.
Application Process
Open the Venue List page to browse available partner venues.
Find the venue you're interested in and click the “Apply as GM” button.
Fill out the application form and submit your request.
Approval
The venue owner will review your application.
Once approved, you will officially become the GM of that venue.
After approval, you’ll be able to access and unlock the venue's MysteryAct scripts.
Step 2: Choose a MysteryAct Game
Once you become a GM, you can start choosing and preparing the MysteryAct you want to host.
How to Choose
From the Home Page: Browse and select the MysteryAct you're interested in directly from the home page.
From Your Venue's Library: Go to the MysteryAct list of the venue you've joined, and choose the script you want to host.
Venue Access Rules
You must join a venue to unlock its scripts.
No need for venue-owner access: As a GM, you can browse, select, and prepare games from the list of scripts that your venue has unlocked.
Step 3: Unlock a MysteryAct (for Preparation)
After choosing a game, the next step is to unlock it for preparation.
How to Unlock
From the Home Page: Click the script you're interested in — the system will unlock it using your current venue identity.
From the Unlocked List: Go to the venue's "Unlocked Scripts" list to directly select and unlock the script.
Switching Venues
If you've joined multiple venues, make sure to switch to the correct venue before unlocking a script, as unlocks are venue-specific.
If You Haven’t Joined Any Venue
When you try to unlock a script without joining a venue, the system will show this message:
"Please join or create a venue before unlocking scripts."
Usage Notes
You only need to unlock a script once. Once unlocked, you can prepare for the game as many times as needed.
Each time you host the game, a session fee will be charged.
Step 4: Use "Simulate Trip" to Simulate Hosting
After unlocking the script, you can use the "Simulate Trip" feature to simulate the entire hosting flow and quickly familiarize yourself with the system. This feature allows you to simulate the game without player participation, and you can exit anytime without affecting real data.
How to Use "Simulate Trip"
Click the “Simulate Trip” button to enter simulation mode.
Click “Start” to begin the simulation and experience the full hosting process.
Step 5: Listen to Audio or Watch Video Guides (If Available)
Some MysteryAct scripts include optional audio or video guides uploaded by the creator, which can help you quickly get up to speed:
Audio Guides: Summaries, character introductions, and hosting tips — perfect for listening on the go.
Video Guides: Visual walkthroughs explaining how to host, open scenes, and manage pacing.
Step 6: Read the MysteryAct Content
Once unlocked, you can read the full script, including:
All player character cards
Story structure, key plot points, and scenes
GM-only notes (including plot twists, hidden information, and pacing suggestions)
Step 7: Check the GM Manual
Each MysteryAct comes with a detailed GM Manual that guides you through each part of the game hosting process:
Opening script and briefing instructions
Scene-by-scene hosting tips and pacing
Common player questions and answers
Ending reveals and post-game reflection tips
🎁 Bonus:You also get to experience one free GM trial journey to get familiar with the full hosting process without pressure.
Step 8: Prepare the Game Space
Make sure your venue setup matches the needs of the game:
Arrange seating according to the number of players
Prepare props, music, printed materials, or projectors if needed
Ensure your network and devices are stable for controlling sound effects or viewing the script
Step 9: Create a Game Session
You can easily start a new session from your venue’s dashboard. Once you click Start, the system will guide you and your players through the full game experience.
On the home page, click “+ PLAY”
On the Party Page, click “Create Game”
On any MysteryAct details page, click “Create Game” to enter the preparation screen
Step 10: Start the Game (In Venue)
Role Selection: GM selects "Game Master" view and assigns player roles.
Player Count: Follow the recommended player count for the best experience.
In-Venue Hosting: Hosting in person creates a more immersive experience for players.
✨ Optional: Become a Venue Partner to unlock more resources and event support.
Step 11: After the Game — Review and Reflect
After the game ends, the system will guide you through the review process:
Invite players to rate the game and your hosting
Fill out a reflection and feedback form
View game performance and player evaluation stats
