Congratulations on downloading Appstle Subscriptions! You have now started the journey to expand your recurring revenue streams, a highly necessary feature to win in today's e-commerce game.

You are in great hands! Appstle will guide you through your journey to success!

App configuration

You can configure the Appstle Subscriptions app by simply logging in to your Shopify admin panel, navigating to the apps section, and clicking on our app.

The App will open within the Shopify Admin dashboard itself.

Click the "Subscription plans" section to be taken to the configuration page.

Here, you can click on ‘Create Subscription Plan’ on the upper right.

Enter a suitable name for your subscription plan and select all the products you want the plan to apply to.

There are 3 options for Plan Type:

  • Pay as you Go,

  • Prepaid One-Time

  • Prepaid Auto-Renew

Plan details

PAY AS YOU GO: If you select this plan, it will automatically bill the customers after the defined interval frequency of the recurring orders.

  • Order Frequency - this is the time gap between two orders.

PREPAID ONE-TIME: if you select this plan, it will charge the customers in advance for their orders. Their subscriptions will then be canceled once all deliveries have been fulfilled.

  • Fulfillment Frequency - the time interval between two fulfillments

  • Billing Frequency - the time gap between two billing cycles. For a pre-paid plan, billing frequency should be higher than delivery frequency. For example, you can set a billing frequency of 12 weeks and delivery frequency of 1 week, in which case, a customer will pay for 12 deliveries in advance.

PREPAID AUTO-RENEW: If you select this plan, it will charge the customers in advance for their orders. Their subscriptions will then continue indefinitely until either they, or you as the merchant, decide to pause/cancel them.

Other definitions

  • Frequency Plan Name - this is for internal purposes only. You can name it anything for your convenience, like WEEKLY, MONTHLY etc.

  • Minimum Number of Orders - minimum number of orders you want to bind your customers to before they can cancel their subscription. Default value is 1.

  • Maximum Number of Orders - maximum number of orders that can happen with the subscription plan, after which it will automatically be canceled.

  • Offer a discount for subscribing? - enable this trigger if you want to offer your customers a discount for a subscription, which can be offered either in the form of percentage or specific amount off.

Creating a subscription plan

You can also enter the subscription frequency from the drop-down in this page - [Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly]. Once you have updated this, you can enter the frequency name [this ‘Frequency Name’ will be the name that will be displayed to your customers].

To add multiple frequencies to your subscription plan, you can click on the 'Add Frequency Option' button.

Lastly, you can choose to reward your loyal customers who subscribe to your products on a recurring basis with a discount, along with many other advanced configurations like minimum and maximum orders, and even trial periods to let customers test your products before committing.
