VIP Program Explained
The VIP Program offers a new way to reward customer engagement with exclusive rewards and statuses based on lifetime spend or earned points.
You can create as many VIP Program Tiers as needed with varying milestone goals, tags, and rewards. To learn more about adding rewards to the VIP Program you can learn more here.
VIP Program customers who have achieved a VIP Program Tier will also receive a tag in the Shopify storefront.
Preparing the VIP Program
1) In the Appstle Loyalty & Rewards app, navigate to the More tab and select VIP Program. The program should be set to Inactive by default after the initial installation. If you have set up the VIP program in the past and need to make changes, please Deactivate the VIP Program.
2) Before adding any VIP Program Tiers, the VIP Program settings must be configured. From the VIP Program page, select Settings to reach the VIP Tier Settings page.
3) On the VIP Tier Settings page, we can adjust the global settings for all VIP Program Tiers with the following settings.
VIP Tier Type - Adjust tier milestones based on loyalty Points Earned or Amount Spent during the Tier Evaluation Period.
Tier Evaluation Period - Determines the evaluation period for activities performed by the customer for eligibility in the VIP Program.
Lifetime - Tiers will be assigned based on the lifetime activity.
One Calendar Year - Tiers are assigned based on the current calendar year. Activity from previous years is not included in assigning new VIP Program Tiers.
Custom - Choose a specific date to begin the VIP Program. Activity before the set date will not be included in assigning VIP Program Tiers.
Expiration Type - If set to No Expiration, the customer will keep their VIP Program Tier indefinitely. If Custom is selected, you can configure the expiration behavior using the following fields. When a customer earns points or achieves a new Tier, their expiration period will reset.
Interval - The amount of time the customer will keep a VIP Program Tier.
Interval Type - The unit of time for the Tier expiration. You can choose months or years.
Enable VIP Program Only for Customers with Tags - You can allow a specific set of customers to participate in the VIP Program
Restrict VIP Program for Customers with Tags - You can block a specific set of customers from participating in the VIP Program
VIP Program Tiers
Creating VIP Program Tiers
1) From the VIP Program settings, select Add New Tier to add a new Tier to the VIP Program.
2) You can customize each Tier using the following fields.
Tier Name - The public name of the Tier. This name will appear on all embedded items, emails, and Appstle Loyalty & Rewards widget sections containing the VIP Program. This will also be used as the default tag applied to the customer when they achieve this Tier.
Tier Icon - This Tier Icon will appear next to the Tier Name in the Appstle Loyalty & Rewards widget. This field accepts an image link. If you need to learn how to retrieve your image URLs, you can learn more here.
Milestone - The number of points earned or total spend needed to achieve this Tier.
Additional Tags - Additional tags that will be applied to the customer when this Tier is achieved.
Customer Facing Label - The label that your customers will see in the VIP Program section of the Appstle Loyalty & Rewards widget.
Status - This selection toggles the availability of the Tier.
3) Optionally, you can add restrictions to your VIP Program Tier based on the following fields.
Allow this VIP Tier to a specific set of customers - You can allow a specific set of customers to achieve this Tier based on customer tags.
Restrict this VIP Tier to a specific set of customers - You can block a specific set of customers from achieving this Tier using customer tags.
Tier Expiration - If set to No Expiration, the customer will keep their VIP Program Tier indefinitely. If Custom is selected, you can configure the expiration behavior using the following fields. When a customer earns points or achieves a new Tier, their expiration period will reset. If this is enabled, it will override any setting from the VIP Program Settings.
Interval - The amount of time the customer will keep a VIP Program Tier.
Interval Type - The unit of time for the Tier expiration. You can choose months or years.
4) After configuring the VIP Program Tier, press Save at the top of the screen to save the VIP Program Tier. If you need to create more tiers, you can repeat this process as many times as needed.
Activating the VIP Program
After configuring your VIP Program and adding all of your VIP Program Tiers, you can now Activate your VIP Program. From the VIP Program page, select Activate to enable the VIP Program. The VIP Program section will now appear on the Appstle Loyalty & Rewards widget and your customers can now achieve new VIP Program Tiers.
