In this article, we will review the steps required to integrate your Salto account with Archie. Before starting these steps, we strongly suggest that you have already created an account in Salto.

Step 1. On your Salto Account

  • Log into your Salto account

  • Create the Salto API key under Account > API and copy the key generated (copy this key in a safe place, you won't see it anymore)

Archie tip: You can proceed to create different groups and associate the doors needed in the Salto portal; this will allow you to set the accesses in your plans in an easier way.

Step 2. Integrating your Salto account with Archie

  • Go to "Settings / Integrations / App marketplace"

  • Locate the Salto app and click "View Integration"

  • Click "Connect Salto account"

  • Choose whether you want to unlock the doors using the Salto KS app or the Archie app. Please note that this selection is permanent and cannot be changed later.

  • Log into your account

  • Enter your API key generated in the first step and select the place

  • Click Connect

  • You will be redirected back to the Salto integration

  • You are now ready to start using this app

Archie tip: If you change your Salto password, you will need to create a new key and associate it again to Archie.

  • Go to "Settings / Integrations / App marketplace"

  • Locate the Salto app and click "View Integration"

  • Click the "Configuration" tab

Quick Troubleshooting Guide

Before starting any of the troubleshooting described below, make sure that the following steps are completed:

  1. Confirm the user has the latest versions of Salto and Archie from the app store.

  2. Enable location services for both apps, the location setting can be set to "while using" if desired.

  3. Ensure Bluetooth is turned on for both apps.

  4. Check that background app refresh is enabled. We've noticed that in some cases, when background app refresh is off (often triggered by low battery power save mode), it affects app functionality.

  5. Restart the apps after making these changes.

if the access for a user is not working as expected you can fix this by:

  • Navigate to the account.

  • Click on the "Subscription" tab

  • Locate the desired subscription and click the three dots button.

  • Select "Edit Beneficiaries"

  • Delete the user experiencing issues and click "Confirm"

  • Click the "General" tab, and then click the "Door access tab"

  • Click the 3 dots button next to the Salto account, and click Delete Salto user

  • Go back to the "Subscriptions" tab, Click the three dots button next to the subscription, and select "Edit Beneficiaries"

  • Add the user back and click "Confirm"

Forgotten pin

It could happen that a User has lost his/her PIN, and therefore is no longer able to perform Remote Openings with the Mobile App. To reset the pin, you can refer to this Salto article.
