ARI Messaging is a great way to reach your recruits, current athletes, and contacts via SMS text messages.
In order to send text messages within ARI, you will need to have money in your account and have an assigned phone number. If you have not done that yet, these links will walk you through how to do that:
Sending individual text messages:
Navigate to the Messaging icon in the left-hand navigation bar.
Select + New Message in the top right-hand corner of the page.
Select From: to ensure that you are sending from the phone number that you would like to use.
Select To: and search for the recruit, current athlete, or contact that you want to text.
Only individuals with cell phone numbers in their profiles return when searched. If a person is not returning, please double-check his/her cell phone number.Type in what you want your text to say in the text box below the To: button.
Once your text is ready-to-go, select Send in the bottom right-hand corner.
TIP: You can also schedule your texts ahead of time by selecting the toggle labeled Schedule right below the text box.
Note: You can also send a recruit, current athlete, or contact an individual text message directly from their profile. Select the airplane icon at the top of the profile to initiate a text message and then follow the instructions above (starting at #5).
Sending a mass text message:
This feature is temporarily unavailable while it undergoes maintenance in light of new Application to Person (A2P) regulations going into effect on July 5, 2023. In order to crack down on spam text messaging, US Cellular carriers are requiring Application Text messaging users (Any Commercial or Non-Profit Organization outside of the normal Peer to Peer messaging relationship) to comply with new regulations including:
Application registration and verification requirements. You will be required to provide proof that you are a legitimate organization with a proven track record of following Mass Texting best practices.
Additional Opt-In and Opt-Out Requirements. Applications will be required to demonstrate that they comply with Federal Communication Commission guidelines requiring customer Opt-In to commence messaging and respecting customer Opt-Outs.
The ARI development team is in the process of making several improvements to our Mass Messaging interface in order to make it simple and convenient for Teams and Team Officials to comply with these regulations. If you have questions about these new requirements or mass messaging, please contact support@arirecruiting.com.
Happy Texting!
