Here is what shipped in Arist in July 2026. End-to-end Synthesia video support leads three highlights, followed by the everyday improvements that make the admin experience smoother.
1. Highlights
Synthesia video, end to end: Content creators can now add a Synthesia AI-generated video to a course by pasting its link, with the editor showing the real video thumbnail the same way it does for YouTube, Vimeo, and Loom links. Learners then see the video play directly in Microsoft Teams and Arist Messenger, without needing to open a separate window, which completes end-to-end support for AI avatar video in Arist courses. See Understanding Formatting and Content Limits.
Team scoping now applies across the admin app, including for Org Admins: The Learners page, the Analytics dashboard, Cohort counts and membership, enrollment and launch dashboards, Recent and Archived content, and every CSV download now reflect only the currently selected team, with no exemption for elevated roles.
Download a CSV of users and roles: Org Admins and Managers can download a CSV of everyone with platform access straight from the Users & roles page, including name, email, roles, and team assignments, which makes access audits and periodic reviews far easier than a manual export. See Managing Users and Roles.
2. Everyday admin improvements
Role changes now require another Org Admin: The role field on your own record is locked for everyone, including Org Admins, so a role change goes through a second Org Admin. See Managing Users and Roles.
Dynamic cohort and team rules now match values without regard to case: "Is" and "is not" conditions no longer require an exact case match, so records with Germany, germany, and GERMANY group correctly instead of splitting. Org Admins no longer have to clean source data or fall back to a looser "contains" condition. See Managing Cohorts.
Course search now matches any of a course's translated names: A course is found by any of its translated names across the content list, template picker, analytics, and schedules, while lists and reports keep showing the primary-language name. See Finding and Managing Your Content.
Clearer errors on cohort CSV uploads: A row whose account email already belongs to someone else's delivery address now fails with a specific error and conflict details in the error download, in both dry run and real import, instead of silently skipping that learner. See Managing Cohorts.
Move to team now warns you which schedules will move: The Move to team dialog lists exactly which schedules, including those in subfolders, will be rescoped before you confirm.
Adding a learner while on a non-default team now adds them to that team: A learner added while you are working in a non-default team lands in that team directly.
Cohort list now hides cohorts scoped Managers cannot act on: Team-scoped Managers see only cohorts containing at least one learner they have access to. See Managing Cohorts.
Learner counts now show on the Team page, with large numbers formatted for readability: The Team page shows a total learner count formatted with comma separators at any size, so headcount no longer means counting rows by hand. See Managing Team Settings.
