How To: Setup Your Custom Network Solutions Domain Name

WARNING: THESE STEPS MUST BE FOLLOWED EXACTLY IN ORDER FOR YOUR CUSTOM DOMAIN TO WORK PROPERLY. IF YOU DEVIATE FROM THESE STEPS YOUR DOMAIN WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY AND IT CAN CAUSE ISSUES WITH CUSTOMERS WHO ARE ATTEMPTING TO PURCHASE ART FROM YOUR WEBSITE.

If your custom domain is registered with Network Solutions, you will find below a series of easy-to-follow instructions detailing how to set up a custom domain with Network Solutions and point to the Art Storefronts platform. This guide will create the required CNAME and A records that will connect your custom domain name to your Art Storefronts site.

Please note that this process is not optional but MANDATORY to complete.

  1. Go to networksolutions.com and click on Log In.

  2. You’ll be taken to a new page asking for your user ID and Password. Enter your login credentials and click on Next

  3. A new page will show up with a dashboard of several options with your domain. Please click on My Domain Names

  4. If you have more than one domain, you’ll see a list of your domains. Please select your desired domain. If you only have one domain, the page will automatically go to domain details. Please select Advanced tools.

  5. This section will expand showing you a few options. Click on Manage right next to Advanced DNS Records.

  6. Next step will be setting up our DNS Records. For the www record, click on the “edit" icon.

  7. A New Pop-up will appear with the DNS Records fields. Click on Delete and if the system asks you to confirm, please Select on Delete.

  8. For the @ Record, click on the “edit” icon and change the IP Address to 205.178.189.129 then click on Edit.

  9. For the * Record, click on the “edit” icon and change the IP Address to 206.188.220.165 then click on Edit.

  10. We need to add one DNS Record that points to Art Storefronts. Click on Add Record and a new pop-up will appear with the DNS Record fields. Please enter the following values:

    1. Type -> CNAME

    2. Refers to->www

    3. TTL -> 1 Hour

    4. Click on Add

  11. Now we are done with the set-up on Network Solutions’ side. Navigate to your Art Storefronts Site Manager and click on the tab labeled Site Address.

  13. A new pop-up will appear. Enter your Custom Domain and click on Create

Please Note: You’ll need to use your domain name with www. This is a mandatory structure that ensures that your domain works without errors.

If you don't already own one, please consider getting a Custom Email Address. A custom email address is essentially a unique email address associated with your brand or website's domain. It serves as a means of crafting personalized email identities for your organization, rather than relying on generic addresses offered by email service providers.
