Is your custom domain hosted by Media Temple? Below you will find easy to follow step-by-step instructions detailing how to set up a custom domain with Media Temple to point to the Art Storefronts platform. This guide will create the required CNAME record and corresponding 301 redirect that allows your custom domain name to work with Art Storefronts.
Navigate to Media Temple and click on the button labeled Login.
Enter your Username.
Enter your Password.
Click Login.
Find the Domain Name you want to work on and click Admin. For the purposes of this tutorial, we are going to use asftestingsite.com as our test domain.
Scroll down until you see a section labeled DNS & Zones Files and click on the option to Edit DNS Zone File.
Find the section labeled CNAME and under Name, type in www.
On the same line where you typed www look for CNAME and to the right of it is a box where you need to enter www.artstorefronts.com. DO NOT, under any circumstances, type in your Art Storefronts subdomain here. Every customer is to enter in "www.artstorefronts.com" in this field
Once you’ve made these changes, click Save Changes.
Return to the previous Dashboard and find the section labeled Server Settings and click on the option titled Redirect Domains.
Find the domain name you are using for Art Storefronts and in the empty box enter your custom domain name so that it includes http://www.
Click Save Changes.
Navigate to your Art Storefronts Site Manager and click on the tab labeled Site Address.
Click Add New.
Add your Custom Domain (including the www).
Click Create.
WARNING: DO NOT USE ANY OTHER SETTINGS SUCH AS DOMAIN MASKING. CHECK IMMEDIATELY TO SEE IF YOU ARE USING THIS SETTING. IF YOU ARE TURN IT OFF.
YOUR SHOPPING CART AND SEO WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY IF DOMAIN MASKING IS TURNED ON.
