This feature shows potential customers products related to the product they are currently looking at, functionality you’ll encounter across many e-commerce platforms such as Amazon. When you view products on their site you will see a suggested or similar products section toward the bottom of the page. Art Storefronts implemented the same type of feature to all Art Storefronts websites, which will display products related to the current product being viewed by product name or keyword.

Please note that the pool of related products that can be displayed is much smaller for your site than you’ll find on large e-commerce sites, so you may find that alternate versions of the same product may be displayed (under the print you may find limited editions and the original, for example). Unfortunately the algorithm which determines which products are displayed doesn’t have any controls which you can use to remove specific products from the list being displayed, and if you have a very small range of products you may wish to disable it entirely.

Recommendation: If you have multiple versions of your product being displayed, you may wish to consider adding an indication of the product type to the name of each product. For example if the product name is Sunrise and you have three variants (print, limited edition, and original), you could name them:

  • “Sunrise” Print

  • “Sunrise” LE

  • “Sunrise” Original

In addition to product names, the system is also checking for any Keywords that have been added to the products, so multiple products with the keyword “Landscape” will be more likely to appear under a product that also contains the same “Landscape” keyword.

To add keywords to products in an Art Print Store, you will need to open the product page in your Site Manager, and on the Info tab, the Search Keywords field is located near the top of the page.

For products in a Standard Store, you will find the Search Keywords field near the bottom of the Info tab of your product page.

Important: There are a couple of formatting requirements to keep in mind when adding keywords.

  • Keywords work best when limited to single words, and all lower-case text. For example “landscape” instead of “Landscape”

  • If you must use a multiple word keyword, separate the words with a dash, and ideally limit the keyword to 2 words, or 3 at most. For example use “sunny-valley” instead of “sunny valley”.

  • When adding multiple different keywords, separate them with a comma but without spaces. For example “landscape,sunny-valley,colorful”.

If you wish to switch the Related Products bar off, you will need to do this individually for each Art Print Store and Standard Store on your site.

To disable this for an Art Print Store, you’ll need to open the store in the Site Manager, go to the Info tab, and the option to display the Display Related Products Bar? can be changed here. After changing the setting to False, click on Save at the bottom of the page to save the change.

To disable this in a Standard Store, you should open the store in your Site Manager, go to the Info tab, and the option to display the Display Related Products Bar? can be changed here. After changing the setting to False, click on Save at the bottom of the page to save the change.
