Table of Contents
Introduction
When you’re working in a Standard Store, you may find that the category you previously created needs to be edited. Maybe it doesn’t have lead content or SEO information. Fortunately, Art Storefronts makes it easy for you to make any changes you want at any point in time.
You will see several different tabs when editing a category in a Standard Store. Click on the option you want to learn how to edit and you will be taken to that specific area of this article. You can continue there.
The Info Tab
Start in the Site Manager and click on the Standard Store that contains the category you want to edit. For this example the store we are examining is using the default name of Standard Store.
On the next page, make sure you are on the tab labeled Categories & Products. This is the page that is going to allow you to work on your categories.
Scroll down the page and click on the Category you want to edit. We’re going to be working on the category labeled Tricycle.
Once you’ve clicked on the Category, you’ll need to find the section labeled Manage and click on the button labelled Edit.
You’ll be taken to a new page and on that page, and you need to make sure you are on the tab labeled Info. This is where you’ll be able to edit the basic information regarding your Category.
You will see several options, but the first is Visibility. This can be set to Public or Private. If set to Public, it means that the Category will appear in your store. If set to Private, it means that the Category will not appear in the store. This does not take the page offline. It only means it cannot be accessed unless someone knows its exact URL.
See In Search/Product Gallery is next. If you set this to on, it means that images in this category and the category itself will appear in searches or in Product Galleries on your website.
Password Protect is the next box. In this section, you can enter a password for your page. When a customer navigates to it they will be asked for the password and if they don’t know it, they will not be able to access the page.
Name is the following section. This is where you can change the name of your Category at any time. It is best to keep it simple and concise.
Lead Content is the next item in the list. The content you insert here will go at the top of the page, just before the main content on the page. It should be used when you'd like to have some descriptive text before a form, or if you'd like to describe a certain category of products to someone who lands on that page. For form pages, specifically, you should include information here about what the form page is used for and, possibly, provide your business hours.
QR Code is the last item on this page. This creates a QR Code which can be read by a QR reader program on a computer or phone to go directly to this page in their browser.

Click on the tab labeled SEO Options.
The first box is your SEO Title. This will not show up on your live website, but will be included between the 'title' tags in the code of your web page. This feature is valuable for Search Engine Optimization and should include 3-5 keywords that people might search for to find this page. Be sure you are not duplicating your SEO titles on your site because this can lead to Google viewing pages as duplicate content and they may not get indexed properly.
The second box is labeled Meta Keywords. Enter keywords here separated by a comma. This will not show up on your live website, but will be included in the code of your web page for Search Engine Optimization purposes. THESE KEYWORDS SHOULD NOT BE HYPHENATED.
The third box is Meta Description. Enter 1-2 sentences here describing this web page. These will not show up on your live website, but will be included in the code of your web page for Search Engine Optimization purposes. Be sure you are not duplicating your Meta Descriptions on your site because this can lead to Google viewing pages as duplicate content and they may not get indexed properly.
Smart URL is the final box. This will appear in the address bar of the browser, like the 'my-page' part in mydomain.com/my-page.
Once you’ve entered information in each of these boxes and you are happy with your results, click the Save button. If you navigate away from this page and you do not save, all this information will be lost. DO NOT CLICK THE BACK BUTTON. If you click back, your information will not be saved.
The Scripts Tab

Please Note: If you decide to implement custom code and it does not work or it breaks your website, Technical Support CANNOT AND WILL NOT be able to assist you with it. They will suggest removing the code or reaching out to a third-party developer or designer.
