How do I set my delivery charges?
How do I set my delivery charges?
Updated over a week ago

As you know, shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and it's up to you to set them in advance, when you publish the work online.
However, you should know that numerous studies show that these costs are often the primary cause of order abandonment.

It's become standard practice for users to pay no delivery charges for their online purchases. It's up to us to adapt to these consumer habits and help your sales grow.

How are delivery charges calculated ?
Our teams determine delivery charges based on a number of factors, including the price of the artwork, its size, weight and other logistical factors. This process enables us to ensure that delivery charges are fair and reflect the most realistic possible costs associated with shipping the work to its new owner.

We recommend charges that are more likely to be accepted. You are free to apply them or to set your own.

You can distinguish 4 delivery zones, for different delivery distances. You can consult the countries to which they correspond by clicking on the information point.

If the box turns red, it means that we consider the charges to be "too" high and less likely to be accepted by the customer. However, you won't be blocked from placing your work online, up to a certain maximum amount.

This is because we have capped delivery charges to prevent them from being too high and discouraging customers. This means that sometimes the charges paid by customers may be lower than what you actually pay for shipping.
However, it's important to understand that this system is designed to encourage sales. In fact, too high a shipping charge deters customers from buying, which means that without this cap, the sale might not take place at all.

We therefore advise you to keep shipping costs as low as possible, but not at the expense of packaging or delivery. For more expensive works, don't hesitate to pay part of the cost yourself.

Ultimately, our goal is to help you sell more art. By making delivery costs more affordable for customers, we increase the chances that they'll go ahead with the purchase. This means more sales for you, even if sometimes the delivery costs paid by the customer are lower than what you pay.

We'd like point out that it is often better to succeed in selling a work even with a smaller profit margin than to not sell it at all. Low delivery costs will help you sell more works and expand you network of collectors.

NB: You are responsible for your costs and your deliveries. Artsper cannot bear any difference between the prices displayed and the actual prices.
