It should be noted that there are several different VAT schemes for art galleries (basic scheme, VAT margin scheme, galleries not subject to VAT, etc.).

Depending on the chosen scheme, a gallery may not be required to indicate the price excluding tax of the work it sells. We therefore cannot ask for the price excluding tax and we invoice our commission based on the sale price.
