As you know, it’s more difficult to appreciate a work of art on a screen than in a gallery.

Even though the internet offers countless possibilities (access to information anywhere and anytime, democratisation, abolition of geographic borders, etc.), the experience of seeing an artwork in a gallery can never be replaced, even if technology allows us to come closer and closer to it.

It is therefore extremely important and necessary to provide high-quality photos to show your works to help users contemplate the artwork in the best possible conditions.
We therefore recommend that you use a professional photographer for each work you wish to display on Artsper. This may entail a cost, but you will then be able to use the photos on many other media (paper catalogues, magazines, websites, etc.).

We also ask galleries to make sure that the main photograph of the artwork is cropped and that only the artwork is visible (we will reject photos that show a person, an object, or other). Lastly, we recommend providing other photos of the work so that the user can appreciate it fully.

For instance, you could show the artwork on a wall, from the back, or in a particular arrangement. To do this, simply upload additional photos. You may add up to 5 photos (the first will be the main photograph of the artwork).
