Overview
The Product Add-on feature allows you to upsell one of your existing Shopify products directly from the cart drawer, helping increase average order value without disrupting the cart experience.
General Settings
To begin, click Select Product and choose the item you'd like to offer as an add-on.
Once selected:
The product will display in the cart preview with its title, image, and pricing.
Ensure the selected product is published on your Online Store sales channel.

Advanced Settings
Include Add-On in Cart Item Count
By default, add-ons are not included in the cartās item count.
Enable this setting if you want the add-on to increase the cart total item number (for example, if rewards are based on item count).
Deprecated: Accept Offer by Default
As of February 17, 2025, this feature has been removed in compliance with Shopify's App Store requirements (Section 1.19).
Apps are no longer permitted to automatically add paid items to a customerās cart without explicit consent.
Customers must manually opt in by toggling the add-on product.

For instance, attempts to simulate the default activation of add-ons, such as synthetic toggles or DOM modifications, are explicitly prohibited and may trigger resets or flags within Shopify.
