Trust Badges Module

This article describes how to add a custom badge image to the top or bottom of UpCart.

Updated over a week ago

The Trust Badges module lets you display an image at the top or bottom of UpCart. You also have the option to upload your own custom image as a trust badge.

Custom Badge Upload

Clicking the badge image or dragging and dropping an image into the Badge Upload section allows you to replace the current trust badge image:

The image will scale up to fit the cart, so be sure to use a wide enough image to maintain its resolution and clarity.

📘 Fun Fact

The Trust Badge module supports a wide range of image file types, including GIFs!

This gives you plenty of creative freedom to display whatever you’d like in your cart.

Recommended Custom Image Format, Size, and Quality:

Image Quality:

Ensure the image quality is set to 72 DPI for optimal results. Common image resolutions include 150 DPI and 300 DPI, which are suitable for print and art-quality work. However, increasing the DPI won’t enhance the image’s appearance; it will only increase the file size and may slow down your cart.

Image Size:

The default badge size is 1037 px x 94 px. To maintain the same horizontal style as ours, keep your image at this size. Since UpCart is responsive, the image will adjust to fit the user’s screen. As a general guideline, set the width to 1000 px and adjust the height to 1000 px or more if you prefer a non-square image.

File Formats

You can upload other image file formats, such as GIFs, but JPEG and PNG are the most commonly used. PNG images are ideal for detailed, high-contrast web graphics and support transparent backgrounds. JPEGs, on the other hand, offer smaller file sizes and are well-suited for high-quality images with rich details and colors. In most cases, PNG will be the best choice for your custom image, but it's a good idea to test both formats across different devices to see what works best.

How to make a Custom Image

If you need assistance creating your image, we recommend using Canva—it's free, easy to use, and helps you get the sizing just right!

Preset Images

This dropdown lets you select from our preset images if you prefer not to upload your own.

Currently, there is only one preset option, featuring an image that displays the most popular payment methods.

If you want to remove or add payment icons, we recommend saving the image above, editing it in your preferred graphic design software, and then uploading it as a custom image.

Position

This setting lets you choose whether the image appears at the top or bottom of the cart.

Below is an example of both positions using a "Thank You" image.
