Why is my AstroPay account restricted?

Your AstroPay account may be temporarily restricted from certain actions, such as:

  • Making transfers

  • Using cards

  • Withdrawing funds

Common Reasons for Restrictions

  1. Security checks: To keep your account protected, we may apply temporary measures if we detect something that requires a review. These checks are part of our standard security process.

  1. Account information: Sometimes, we may need you to confirm or update details, such as your personal information or identity documents.

  2. Regulatory requirements: In certain cases, financial regulations require us to review specific transactions or request additional verification.

💡 Note: If your account is restricted, a banner in the AstroPay app will usually explain why.

How Long Will the Restriction Last?

The duration depends on the reason and risk level:

  • Short-term: It can be removed within a few days once everything is reviewed and confirmed.

  • Extended: It may take longer if further documentation or regulatory checks are required.
