In some cases, a fraudster may use your personal information to create an AstroPay account and receive payments meant for you. Here is how these cases are handled.

How the process works

  1. Provide details about the transfer, such as the PIX key or account number used.

  2. The destination account linked to your information is verified.

  3. If the account was created without your knowledge, it is suspended and any active payment keys are removed.

What happens next

  • If no money was lost: The payment keys are removed and the case is closed.

  • If money was stolen: The case is escalated to the specialized fraud team for further investigation.

Safety tips

  • Always verify the account details before sending or receiving money.

  • Avoid sharing personal information with unknown people.

  • Report suspicious transactions immediately.
