How At Last stores and pulls data through the Shopify plugin.

Below is an overview of what data we collect, how it's stored, and who can access it.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

When you download the At Last Shopify plug-in and connect your Shopify store with At Last, we fetch and store specific data to enable key product functionality and ensure merchants and customers can effectively manage returns.

What information does At Last pull from Shopify?

We collect the following data from your Shopify store:

  • Order Information: Including but not limited to order details, customer names, email, phone number, and shipping address.

  • Product Information: Includes product titles, prices, descriptions, images, variants, and other related metadata.

Where and how does At Last store data?

We use a two-tiered storage system to manage the data efficiently and securely:

1. Active Storage

  • Type: DynamoDB

  • Region: EU-West-2 (London)

  • Purpose:

    • Powers the client-facing app, allowing your customers to see past orders and select products for return.

    • Powers the internal dashboard to help merchants contextualise returns, i.e., know what’s coming back and why.

  • Data Types:

    • Assigned Orders: Data linked to a specific customer email.

    • Unassigned Orders: These are not linked to any user and are automatically deleted after 6 months.

2. Cold Storage

  • Type: Amazon S3

  • Purpose:

    • Supports batch processing of incoming data.

    • Facilitates debugging and data recovery in rare cases of system issues or data loss.

Who Has Access to the Data?

  • Direct Access: Limited to technical At Last team members.

  • Indirect Access: Other team members access data through the internal dashboard for merchant support purposes.

    • This access excludes PII (personally identifiable information) such as customer names and addresses.

    • However, email addresses are visible to enable effective customer support communication.
