Mobile Data Entry provides an easy way to manually enter interval readings while you are out in the field. Only a mobile device is required.

👍 This article will help you:

  • Add readings for your buildings' manual points

  • Provide helpful meter or device information to assist data entry

To access Mobile Data Entry, go to Apps in the side menu at left, then Mobile Data Entry. Alternately, type m.buildingos.com into the web browser on your mobile device.

Add a manual reading

Select a building. If you have access to only a single building, then the buildings list will be skipped.

460

Select a point. All manual points with reading types of totalizer or interval consumption that are associated with the building will display in the list.

460

Select the form field to input a numerical reading. The grey number displayed in the field is the most recent manual reading for that point, for reference.

🚧 Check for reading multipliers

Certain meters require that you multiply the reading by a "multiplier". For example, a meter may show “X300,” indicating that the number on the face of the meter should be multiplied by 300 before being entered in the field.

460

If the meter or device has a photo, then it will display here. Photo can be updated in the point's Profile tab in Atrius.

If the meter or device has a description, then a question mark icon will appear at the bottom right of the photo. Select the icon to view the description. Description can be updated in the point's Profile tab.

If a Validation threshold has been configured for the point, then your manual reading will be checked against it. New readings in excess of this threshold will trigger a warning message.

If you’re sure the reading is correct, you may select 'Submit anyway'.

384

Validation threshold can be updated in the point's Profile tab in Atrius.

453

After the reading has been submitted successfully, you will be directed back to the point list for that building. The small point icon next to the point name will be replaced with a green checkmark icon. Every 24 hours, the icon will reset to its original state.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Solution

I have submitted an incorrect reading.

Incorrect readings must be deleted in Atrius. Navigate to the point in Atrius, then to Data Manager. Edit or delete the incorrect readings.

Depending on their permission set, certain users may need to contact their Atrius administrator to edit or delete readings.

I cannot enter a second reading within 1 hour of having entered the first reading.

Readings must be at least one hour apart.

I don't have an Internet connection at the site of the meter or device.

Mobile Data Entry requires Internet connectivity to submit readings. If you lose connectivity, write down the readings and submit them when you regain connectivity.
