Understand connectivity requirements
Troubleshoot your Siemens Apogee integration
To view your current Siemens Apogee integration details and statuses, go to Settings on the left side menu, select Integrations, then select Siemens Apogee.
Overview
The Siemens CSV add-on for Apogee Insight enables quick, easy, and secure connectivity between your Siemens Insight building automation system and Atrius. The Apogee Report Builder is required to produce the CSV file that is sent to Atrius. A Visual Basic script running on an Apogee Insight server monitors for this CSV report file, and will push the resulting CSV from the Siemens server to a Atrius REST endpoint. Atrius servers process the file, then display the data in Atrius.
Troubleshooting
Review common troubleshooting steps that may restore communication between an offline Siemens Apogee server and Atrius.
If all Atrius Siemens Apogee points are offline
Reboot the dedicated Siemens Apogee server and verify that the server is generating CSV trend report files.
Verify that port 80 outbound is enabled to push data out over HTTP.
Verify that the Windows Task Scheduler is active and is configured correctly.
Verify and/or correct any recent formatting changes to the CSV trend report file(s). This can include changes to the Timestamp or Header formatting and/or changes to the Point IDs.
Point IDs must match the existing Point IDs in Atrius. Go to Integrations to view current Siemens Apogee integration details. If you require assistance with changing these Point IDs, please contact Customer Support.
If only a partial list of Siemens Apogee points are offline
Ensure that the individual Point IDs and Point Values exist within your CSV trend file. For example, if your CSV file includes text ("none"), null values (“null”), or blank values (“ “), Atrius will interpret the data as invalid and mark the point as offline.
Verify that the individual metering hardware/devices are reporting expected values.
Additional resources
A Facilities or Controls point of contact would be able to determine if the Siemens Apogee server is correctly generating CSV trend report file(s) and verify that the Windows Task Scheduler is active and configured correctly. Note that a Siemens Technician may have to make a site visit if more advanced configuration changes are required.
A Network or IT point of contact would be able to determine if the dedicated Siemens Apogee server is down or impacted by any recent network/firewall settings changes or network hardware changes.
