Charts are powerful tools for data visualization, enabling users to uncover insights from consumer data effectively. By transforming raw data into visual formats, charts help to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that may not be immediately obvious. This guide will walk you through the steps to edit your chart within our platform, ensuring you can customize your data visualizations to meet your specific needs.
Editing Your Chart
Opening the Chart Settings Panel: Click on the "Edit View" button to open the chart settings panel. Here, you can customize your chart based on the type of question and the data you have.
Choosing a Chart Type: Select from various chart types, such as bar, column, pie, line, stacked column, and stacked bar, depending on the nature of your data and the insights you wish to derive.
Customizing Colours: Choose from 8 different colour palettes to make your chart visually appealing or create your own custom colour theme. You can then choose which specific colours to use for each variable.
Removing Answers or Variables: You have the option to remove specific answers or Variables from your chart to focus on the most relevant data.
Switching Axes: Switch the axes to change how the data is visualized, providing a different perspective on the same dataset.
Displaying Answers vs. Subjects: For grid and ranked questions (on the Trends and Analysis page), you can decide whether to display answers or subjects on the chart.
Page level options
The page level options menu on the top right will also give you a few more options such as choosing your colour theme for all charts, displaying the percentages (data labels) on the chart or choosing the order in which your results are displayed.
Creating your own custom colour themes
In addition to the default Attest colour themes, you have the option to create your own custom theme. This enables you to effortlessly incorporate your brand’s colours into your charts, ensuring that your data visualizations not only communicate effectively but also align consistently with your brand identity. When selecting a theme, simply choose the "+ Create Custom Theme" option, where you can input your brand's specific HEX codes. Once created, your custom theme will be accessible for all surveys across your organization.
Statistical Significance on Charts
By default statistically significant changes will be highlighted with an up of down arrow, indicating a significant increase or decrease. You can toggle the statistical significance option at the top right to hide or show this on the charts. You can also adjust the confidence level and comparison column to suit your analysis needs.
Saving Settings
All settings applied to your chart will be saved for the specific question. This means if you leave the chart and return later, your customizations will still be in place, ensuring consistency in your data analysis.
Exporting Your Chart
You can download all charts as a .png image for easy sharing and presentation. You can also easily copy the underlying data in case you want to integrate the data of a single question into another spreadsheet. Whilst you cannot export all charts directly, you can download all your questions to Excel for further analysis or data management.
By following these steps, you can fully customize your charts to visualize data in a way that best suits your analysis needs, making it easier to derive meaningful insights from your consumer data.
