How do I add or edit alt text on an image within a chapter?

Updated over 3 months ago

You can add or update alt text on any image directly from the chapter editor. There are two ways to do this, depending on whether the image is already inserted or you're adding a new one.

To add or edit alt text to an image already in Atticus:

  1. In the chapter editor, you’ll want to click the cog icon to the top right of the image.

  2. In the pop-up settings box, you'll see an “Alt Text” field.

  3. Enter a short, meaningful description (140 characters or fewer).

  4. Click Update Image.

You can return and edit the alt text at any time by clicking the cog again.

When adding a body image:

  1. Place your cursor where you would like the image to be added.

  2. Click the image icon in the toolbar.

  3. Upload or select your image.

  4. Once the image has been selected you’ll see more options appear including an “Alt Text” field.

  5. Enter a short, meaningful description (140 characters or fewer).

  6. Click Upload Image.
