While you're working in the Writing Tab, all notes will be indicated by the '1' icon. The final numbering will be applied in the formatting process, depending on the options chosen on the Formatting Tab. You can preview the numbering as it will be applied in the body text and note sections by checking the preview on the Formatting Tab.
Why are all notes #1 when I view them in the editor?
