There are a few different ways you can share your book with a proofreader depending on whether or not they have an Atticus account.
User with an Atticus Account or Option 1: Invite them as a Beta Reader (Atticus account required)
If your proofreader has their own Atticus account, we’d recommend inviting them to collaborate directly in Atticus. Here’s how to invite them.
Click the “invite” button in the top right in the Atticus toolbar.
Select “beat reader” from the dropdown menu.
Type in type in the Atticus email associated with your proofreader’s account.
Click “invite” to send an invitation to your book.
Once they’ve accepted your invitation, they’ll be able to view, add comments and more to your book. You can read about what permissions a beta reader has, and other collaboration roles, here: Collaboration Roles
User without an Atticus Account or Option 2: Export a PDF
If your proofreader doesn’t have an Atticus account there is no need to worry, you can still share your book with them! Simply click on the formatting tab and select the “export PDF” button to share a physical copy with them.
If you prefer to share a digital copy, you can still export your book and upload it to a platform you feel comfortable using to share your work.
Note: We strongly recommend against sharing your Atticus account credentials with anyone. This can create serious security risks to your account and we cannot guarantee the safety of your work.
We hope this helps!
