This med shouldn’t be in the controlled count — so why am I still counting it?

Here’s how to remove a controlled drug from the controlled count list when it is no longer needed for administration.

Step 1: From the medications tab of the resident's chart, discontinue the medication. Ensure the RX numbers match the medication order to be discontinued before proceeding.

Step 2: Confirm that the Controlled Count is zero. Dispose of any extra medication in the controlled drug count tab of eMAR.
