Step 1:
Navigate to the medications tab of the resident's chart.
Step 2:
Click "Add Order" and select "Record Vital."
Step 3:
Enter the order details, including the vital to be recorded, any instructions, and the start and end dates if applicable. Select the appropriate frequency and click "Save."
Step 4:
During Med Pass, select the vital card, enter the required vital information, and click
"Save." The completed vital will automatically sync to the resident's Notes tab, where historical vital records can be reviewed or printed as needed.
If a vital is taken within a 15-minute period, it can be shared across multiple eMAR medication administrations that require that vital reading. For example, if a blood pressure reading is taken, it can be applied to any medication administration that requires a blood pressure measurement, so you only need to enter the information once.
