Using Intelligent Vitals

Using Intelligent Vitals

Written by Sarah Weinstock

August Health's Intelligent Vitals feature eliminates the need for double-recording by automatically extracting vital signs from text boxes such as resident notes, incidents, and comments and syncing them directly into the resident's historical charts, saving valuable administrative time for staff.

Step 1:

Start a resident note, incident, or comment and type the vital information directly into the text box.

Step 2:
Once added, August Intelligence will automatically appear on the screen, syncing the vitals you entered in the text box.

Step 3:

Double-check the extracted data and manually input or adjust the specific date and time the vital signs were taken, if necessary.

Step 4:

Click "Save" and the vitals automatically populate the resident's historical vitals chart for long-term tracking.

Additional Details

  • Automatic Unit Conversion: Handles metric to imperial unit conversions seamlessly (e.g., typing "weight 55.6kg" will automatically convert and display the measurement in pounds).

  • Contextual Information: Captures and pairs any supplementary details that accompany a vital sign (e.g., recording details like "temp 98.6 oral" or "o2 98% on 1L").

  • Flexible Time Stamps: Allows users to specify a past date or time for the vital reading rather than forcing it to default to the current time (e.g., processing "temp 98.6 at 2pm").

If you don't want to use Intelligent Vitals, click on the upper right of the box.
