Adding a resident to a room

How to assign a resident to a room

Written by Naomi Gelfand

This article outlines how to add a resident to a room. It also covers how to add an additional room if the resident occupies more than one room.

Step 1:

Navigate to the "Details" tab of the resident's chart.

Step 2:

In the room box, click the "+ ADD" button.

Step 3:

Use the "Room" dropdown to select or search for an available room. Indicate whether the room is private, shared, or if the resident you are adding is the 2nd resident. Once you make your selections, click "Save".

  • Private Room: Assign a room as private when it is intended for a single resident. If a second resident (e.g., a spouse) is added later, the room remains private but includes the secondary resident.

  • Shared Room: Use this designation when two unrelated individuals share a room. The room is divided into A/B sides for clarity.

  • Second Resident: This label is used when adding an additional resident to a private room, typically for spouses or partners.

Adding a secondary room

Step 1:

After the primary room is added, the "+ADD" button changes to "+ADD ADDITIONAL." Click "+ ADD ADDITIONAL" on the upper right of the room box.

Step 2:

Enter all required and necessary room data, then click "Save."

After an additional room is added, you can differentiate between the primary and secondary rooms by the tag displayed next to the room number.
