Medication tab overview

This article outlines the capabilities of the Medications tab inside a resident's chart. It covers what you'll initially see at first glance, the different reports available from the Download dropdown, and how to add, edit, or discontinue medications. The Medications tab is where you can view all active and historical information related to a resident's medications.

Navigate to the "Medications" tab:

Here you will see all the resident's current medications, and if you scroll to the bottom, there is a button to view discontinued medications.

A resident's Active Medication List populates on the Face Sheet.

Here are a few of the reports you can download from the Download dropdown. The MAR will print the list of medications and their schedules. The eMAR Report will show the initials for each administration as they appear on the log and will also record any vitals documented during a med pass.

Printing a Centrally Stored Medication Log

Step 1:

Go to the Medications tab of the resident's chart.
Step 2:

Click the "Download" dropdown on the right and select "Medication Log."


Step 3:

A list of all medications for the resident will appear. Click the + next to a medication to indicate the number of bottles received from a shipment. Click Download at the bottom.

Note: PDF will open in a new tab. The Physician, Rx Number, and Pharmacy Name will be automatically populated. Print the form and fill in any remaining information, such as the quantity and expiration date.



Printing a Medication Destruction Log

Step 1:

Go to the Medications tab of the resident's chart.


Step 2:

Click the "Download" dropdown on the right and select "Medication Destruction Log."


Step 3: A list of medications will appear, with discontinued medications at the top and active medications below. Click the + next to each medication to indicate the number of bottles being destroyed. Click Download.

Note: A PDF will open in a new tab with the selected medications and their details. Print the form and complete the remaining fields, such as the quantity destroyed and destruction date.
