ADG offers multiple triggers allowing merchants to control and set an intended behavior for their promotion.
One good example is the "User Activity — Website Visitor's Country" trigger. It allows merchants to whitelist or blacklist a specific location from triggering a promotion.
How to set up the Website Visitor's Country trigger?
1. Open ADG - Automatic Discounts & Gifts app.
2. Click on the "Edit" button of your promotion.
3. Click on the "Add Trigger" button.
4. Click on the first dropdown menu and select "Website visitor country" from the list of triggers.
5. Set the preferred rule: "Is one of" — to Whitelist or "Is not one of" — to Blacklist.
6. Enter the "Country Location" into the empty field to Whitelist or Blacklist it from triggering the promotion.
7. Scroll down to the bottom and click on the "Save" button to apply changes.
8. You're all set!
Note: The trigger for User Activity - Website Visitor's country, is just an approximation and can be tricked by customers using VPN services. Shipping restrictions should be defined on Shopify and not here.
