You can write an email now and have AwardSpring send it later, for example a deadline reminder timed for the morning it matters, or a thank-you queued to go out after an event.
Scheduling an email
Go to Emails > Quick Compose and write the email.
Then, in the Sending panel on the left, look at When to send:
Click Schedule. A date field and a time field appear.
Set the date and the time you want the email to go out.
Send the email as you normally would.
Note: scheduled emails send in your institution's time zone, not the time zone you happen to be working in. If you are travelling or working remotely from elsewhere, set the time you want recipients to receive it locally.
Finding your scheduled emails
Scheduled emails are listed under Emails > Sent & scheduled.
Use the Scheduled filter to see only what is still waiting to go out, rather than scrolling past everything you have already sent. You can also search by title, subject, body or recipient.
It is worth checking this list before a busy period. Anything scheduled by mistake, sent to the wrong list, or timed for a date that has since moved is still fixable while it sits here.
Editing or cancelling a scheduled email
Open the email from the Sent & scheduled list to change it or stop it going out.
Cancelling a scheduled email removes it along with its content, so if you might want the message later, copy the text somewhere before cancelling.
Scheduled email on a donor or student record
A scheduled email appears on the recipient's Activity tab before it sends, labelled Scheduled.
This is different from an Upcoming activity, which is something you logged yourself with a future date. A scheduled email is a message AwardSpring will actually send.
