Release: Image Section update

The images section for both products and components just got a fresh coat of paint, and it's mighty shiny.

What's new:

  1. Upload image: This area has been moved to the upper-right corner of the section:

  2. Default image: The icon has been changed from a flag into a star:

  3. 3 dot ellipsis: Hover over the image to display the icon for additional actions:

  4. Image details: The image card now includes the artboard name, source file name, and upload date:

  5. Image status: A dropdown menu has been added to the upper-right corner of the section. Toggle the status between active, inactive, and all:

    • Note: This will replace the "archive" function.

  6. Bulk actions: Hover over the image, the circle icon has been changed to a checkbox with new options in the bulk action toolbar:

    • Added dropdown for status options of active and inactive.

    • Added dropdown to assign a section menu. This requires one additional click.

  7. Replace images: You will now replace images in the main Images section, not the Image Annotator. To replace an image, follow the below steps:

    1. Navigate to the images section of your Product.

    2. Hover over the image you wish to replace, click the 3 dot ellipsis.

    3. Choose View Source File.

    4. In the upper left-hand corner of the modal, upload your new image.

    5. Once uploaded, it will give you the option to upload new image or replace. existing image.

    6. Select the option and your image will appear.

    7. You can then use the Image Annotator, to copy or paste your annotations.

  8. Added connectivity with the Adobe Illustrator Plugin: Through the updated image section you can access Adobe Illustrator source files. Learn more here.

What’s not changing:

  1. Image sections: These are still configured via the admin panel - under "Tech Pack Sections". Note: The order of the sections in-app will always be alphabetical A-Z, with Uncategorized first and Colorways last.

    1. Clicking the section name within the left-hand navigation menu brings you directly to that section.

  2. Delete or mark an image "inactive": This is still possible via the 3 dot ellipsis menu and bulk actions toolbar.

  3. Deleted images: These are permanently deleted, including annotations, and cannot be restored.

  4. Duplicated images: These will still include annotations.

  5. Inactive images: These will not appear on Tech Packs but may be restored at any time.

  6. Default image: The default (starred) image will continue to appear as the thumbnail throughout Backbone.

  7. Edit an image: Clicking the Edit button on an image opens the Image Annotator.

  8. Colorway images: The first image assigned in the colorway sections will be the main displayed image in colorway level Line Sheet reports.

  9. Image organization: You can still organize your Images by:

    • Dragging and dropping the thumbnail into the image section.

    • Assigning the section via the overflow menu or bulk actions toolbar.
